Restless Foundations
--
Restless Foundations is a digital exploration of time, structure, and the hidden volatility beneath seemingly solid surfaces. Utilizing a brutalist palette of grays, deep blacks, and earthy browns, the work evokes the gritty, tactile weight of urban decay and industrial monoliths.Though created digitally, the piece is meticulously crafted with heavy, simulated layers and scarred textures that mimic weathered concrete, shifting brickwork, and sedimentary stone. While the block-like geometry suggests permanent stability, the aggressive, layered brushwork introduces a distinct tensionas if the very ground beneath the structure is alive and moving. It is a visual meditation on memory, the passage of time, and the uneasy relationship between the permanence we build and the impermanence of the earth.
