Masked In Pastel

"Masked in Pastel" explores the delicate tension between visibility and concealment in the digital age. In this digital painting, a woman’s face is overlaid with heavy, tactile impasto-style strokes of pink and orange, creating a vibrant physical barrier that interrupts her expression. The thick, deliberate textures do not merely cover her features; they form a modern mask over a profoundly melancholic expression. By contrasting the bright, gentle palette of pastels with the heavy weight of the digital palette knife, the artwork captures a deep sense of isolation—suggesting the colorful, textured layers we curate online to shield our inner vulnerability and sadness from the world.
